The Sea is Calm Tonight - 2016 Project

The sea is calm tonight
The sea is calm tonight
                 off Dover Beach
The birds at dusk
                 cry out syllables
     of some deconstructed word
                       we are yet unable
           to decipher
                        to explain existence
And they lift the last light
                             with their wings
         And fly away with it
                          over the horizon
Keeping the secret

Il mare è calmo stanotte

Il mare è calmo stanotte

a largo di Dover Beach

Gli uccelli al crepuscolo

gridano sillabe

di qualche parola decostruita

che non siamo ancora capaci

di decifrare

per spiegare l’esistenza

E sollevano l’ultima luce

con le proprie ali

E volano via con essa

oltre l’orizzonte

Mantenendo il segreto
