Ugo Nespolo (born at Mosso, Biella on August 29, 1941) is an Italian painter and sculptor, particularly known for his experimental films,  his applied art works and his artistic collaborations in advertising, theater and literature.

Nespolo graduated at the Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti of Turin under Enrico Paulucci and obtained a degree in Modern Literature at the University of Turin, with a thesis on Semiology.

His career as an artist started in the 1960s and his work was influenced by Pop Art, which was becoming popular in Italy in those years, Conceptual Art,  Arte Povera and Fluxus, movements that he learned to appreciate during his frequent trips to the United States. After the first trip in 1967, he continued to regularly visit the States, where he spent long periods especially during the 1980s. Irony and transgression were part of his art and since then, and will characterise also all the rest of Nespolo's work in the years to come. Since 2010 he has been in the Honour Committee of Immagine & Poesia.

Ugo Nespolo vive e lavora a Torino.

Cameroon: Damien Blue, Yaoundé

Nyuyse Damien Senyuy also known as Damien Blue is an Artist- Musician.

From an early age he has always had an inclination to paint, draw, write, sing and dance. As a teenager he found that through his art he could communicate and form relationships with people who viewed and looked at his works. He would be asked questions about what he had created and this would give him an opportunity to introduce them to the world of artistic expression and explain his ideology. In 2005 his works attracted an international artist called “Angu Walter” who gave him a scholarship to study art and also be his mentor. Later in 2009 he graduated and operated his own art gallery.
As a contemporary artist, he uses a couple of different art forms and mediums with master touches to bring his imaginations to life. You truly get a nice sense of humor in his paintings as he paints on themes interpreting our everyday life. Resident in Cameroon-central Africa, Damien's paintings now have an international recognition with sales and deliveries from online, USA, Germany and from his home based Art Gallery in Cameroon.

His Art has also drawn the attention of international bodies like the University Of New South Wales Australia that used his painting as a significant figure for a music course. The walker Primary school in UK has taken on a three year project to use his art as focus to inspire and educate their 6year old pupils from 2013. He has been an ambassador from Cameroon to Jordan international art exhibition to help people living with cancer, Art and Peace Festival in Brazil, Cameroon representative of Art Nations in Germany, and now he also just took the responsibility to represent the Immagine and Poesia movement in his Country, just to name a few. He also runs his own non-profit organization called “Visionary Art world foundation” which operates more on doing voluntary art therapy with people living with disabilities, street children and art lovers.
Apart from painting; Damien Blue is a singer, guitarist and songwriter. His ability to sing in English, French, German and dialect is one of Damien's great characteristics.
His music is full of creativity, energy and beautiful Afro jazz melodies from his 2010 album titled “Angale”. His multi lingual songs and colors have a great universal appeal.

"It's a double pleasure for me when someone can locate his or her self in any of my works of art"

Croatia and Slovenia: Boris Pecigoš, Zagreb, Croatia

Boris Pecigoš (b. 1974 in Zagreb, Croatia) discovered his talent for painting at age of 31, when he went to the art workshops led by Andrea Weiss Sadeh.

Andrea’s approach to painting and teaching painting is unique, based (along with instruction on the basic art elements and techniques) primarily in developing how to perceive one’s inner self and its expression through the brush strokes.

This approach meant a lot because of  Boris’ intuitiveness and sensibility, and he could find the possibility of self-development and engagement with the inner world of emotions, conflicts, desires and longings, as well as the expression of his enthusiasm with nature and its energy flows.

He mainly uses vivid colours applied directly from the tube (impasto) and rapid and intense brush strokes or palette knife strokes to express his emotions and inner world or to abstract nature or figures. That is why his paintings are felt more than watched by eyes and mentally analyzed.

He is at the last year of academic studies in painting at the Arthouse - College of Visual Arts in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

He is the representative of Immagine & Poesia in Croatia and Slovenia.

Czech Republic: Robert Fürbacher, Trutnov

Robert Fűrbacher was born in 1970 in Trutnov (Czech Republic).
From 1988 to 1992 , Robert studied free art academy in Rotterdam (Netherlands ), under guidance of an academic painter / teacher Mr. Willem Koelewijn. This was followed by many styles of paintings ( Pop Art, Impressionism , graphics ... ). V mid-nineties, Robert " discovered" the secret of abstract art.First with mixed feelings , then with great enthusiasm.

"It was the rediscovery of mine own creation, instead of permanent control on the creative process ,total freedom, which was liberating for me."

He participated in many group exhibitions in the Netherlands . He  had more than 40 personal exhibitions up to today (Netherlands,Czech Republic, Belgium and Poland)

His works belong to many private collections.

"I mainly use acrylic paints, oil paints and various natural materials and that all mix together.Images are created from more than 20 transparent layers. I'm inspired by my inner world, and trying with my work,to show another perception."

Robert Fürbacher is primarily an abstract painter , whose paintings are full of vibrant color wide range of shades. The paintings carry a certain mystique and magic. They speak to us through the artist's vision of the world , which sounds somewhat exotic. Looking at work from his colorful paintings radiates warmth and rainbow mood takes us on a subjectively positive feelings of harmony, whose achievement is one of the artist's main objectives.

He is one of the representatives of Immagine & Poesia in the Czech Republic.

Ethiopia: Helina Million, Addis Ababa

Helina Million Bogale was born in 1984 in Ethiopia, “a land of endless culture, music and languages", according to her own words.
She attended The Sandford English Community School, which allowed her to point out her two personalities and so she was able
to switch from the Ethiopian way of life to the western one.
During her educational training Helina met the world of Art and through Art she understood it was possible to overthrow all the barriers of superficial differences.

Helina is a self-taught artist.

One of her works has been exhibited in New York.

Helina Million is the representative of Immagine & Poesia in Ethiopia.

“ My life is my greatest inspiration, after all, I can only paint
what I know . My work  is a depiction of my ordeals, my sorrow, my anger , my exhilaration, my pensive thoughts.
But I also find inspiration in everything I come across, my latest being the human body.

The media I work with are: oil paint, water color , pencil, crayon,
and pastel. My work is handmade from scratch.
I wish to achieve a lot in art , I wanna break barriers and learn everything that’s out there.”

Ismo Jokiaho, Tampere, Finland

Finland: Ismo Jokiaho, Tampere

Ismo Jokiaho was born in 1965 in a Saarijärvi in the middle of Finland. Currently he lives in Tampere working as an artist. He began to paint when he was about twenty after a  crucial trip to different European art museums.  He graduated in 1992 in Cultural Studies and Arts at the University of Joensuu and he started to paint regularly.

His works and pictures are usually made in ink and oil colors.
He usually works with traditional tools, brushes, oils, canvases, paper etc.
He works by adding  broad outlines of the material and color, and if necessary, he takes them away, again and again – as long as the work starts to communicate and responds to his suggestions. It is characteristic  that he respects also the so-called “damages” and “coincidences” as part of the process.
As an artist he tries to transfer the understanding and feeling of the unspoken onto a paper or canvas and dissolve the division between the practice of different cultural forms and the practice of painting.
According to his opinion, painting is  freedom to seek, explore, change direction and eventually find something touching and relevant.

Ismo Jokiaho’s works have been shown in solo and group exhibitions since 1986.

He is the representative of Immagine & Poesia in Finland.

Aicha Skandrani, France - Tunisia
Aicha Skandrani, France - Tunisia

France and Tunisia: Aicha Skandrani, Paris, France

Born under the skies where the secrets of light are indefinable, Aicha Skandrani acknowledges her gratitude to her native country, Tunisia, as it is the love of light that flows through her veins – light both physical and spiritual.

She moved  from La Marsa to Los Angeles, where she had the good fortune to experience a blessed artistic milieu under the skies of California, where she spent over two years at Santa Monica College . This was followed by a stay in France – first in the southern French city of Toulouse (“la ville rose”), then in Paris, where she joined a cultural and artistic milieu thanks to the IESA.

It was during her studies at IESA that she discovered the light and colors of Italy – mainly in cities like Verona and Venice, where she captured optical effects at high speed with her camera. In this way she began developing an art, through photography of the visible, that enabled one to see images invisible to the naked eye.

At age 17, something happened that had a major impact on her life and on her consciousness. She came to be aware that there are real things invisible to the naked eye, and that the ability to see beyond the visible is not given to everyone. Drawn to this invisible world, she wanted to share her vision through the medium of photography as her art was taking on another dimension.

“My photographs are open to various interpretations, which have as their basis tolerance and acceptance of cultural diversity. The main purpose consists in opposing religious extremism, by way of multiple symbols, letters and icons that for millennia have belonged to different cultures as well as our universal culture… I am focusing on the spiritual side of art for the purpose of awakening an awareness of my work that asks that we consider how could we really be different if we all see the same light!”

Aicha Skandrani is the representative of Immagine & Poesia in France and in Tunisia.

Heike Schmidt (Blue Moon), Germany
Heike Schmidt (Blue Moon), Germany

Germany: Heike Schmidt, Stuttgart

Heike Schmidt loves experimenting with colours. She mixes many of her paints herself using pigments. The artist considers the preparation of the paint, experimenting with the proportions of the pigment mixture and binder to be not only preparation but already part of the artistic process leading from the idea through the creation to the completion of the works.

In terms of contents, the artist deals with the basic questions of our existence, the genesis of the earth and our universe. Her works belonging to the series ‘Galaxie’ and ‘Dream World’ in particular, demonstrate the artist's longing for the infinity of our being and may be interpreted as snapshots of the genesis of the universe and the birth of the galaxies. She shows through colour, canvas and the use of technical aids how gases condense, mix with other elements creating new matter which is ever-changing through a variety of influences.

Heike Schmidt preferably works with the colour blue, the colour of longing and infinity. For the series ‘Dream World’ the artist extended her colour palette including red and green.

Heike Schmidt lives and works in Stuttgart.

Since 2008 her works have been shown in exhibitions in Germany, Austria and The Netherlands.

Heike Schmidt is the representative of Immagine & Poesia in Germany.

Iran: Taraneh Ebrahimi, Tehran

Tarane Ebrahimi was born  in 1982 in Iran. She is a painter whose work shows an exciting visual style that unites form, fluid brushstrokes, and vivid colour into a tapestry of unique inspiration. She combines dynamic movement with emotion, revealing joy and sadness in equal measures. Her work reflects how an artist is able to tap into a range of human experience.

She believes that colours are important because they symbolize human feelings and emotions.
Ebrahimi is drawn towards abstraction. She believes that the discussion of a finished piece of work becomes a dialogue with the work and the individual viewer.

Donna McGee is an Irish artist and lives in Dublin. She has had a varied career in the financial services industry. Juggling her career and with family commitments, she decided to immerse herself in her childhood passion –painting!

She is largely self-taught and has her own unique style encompassing a diverse range of influences. Her biggest inspiration is to try to capture the restless elemental forces of the Irish landscape and to celebrate its timeless beauty in her work. She aims to stimulate a sense of harmony and curiosity in the eyes of the viewer through her representational and abstract work.

She particularly enjoys the medium of oils and the build-up of rich texturized layers in her abstractions.

She is now taking a course of study in graphics and digital media. She hopes that this will extend her joy in developing her skills as an artist.

Israel: Yuri Kabisher, Tel-Aviv

"I was born in Vitebsk in 1976 in the family of an artist Igor Kabisher. Since my early childhood I was raised in a very creative atmosphere and surrounded by visual art.

In 1987 I entered the art school of the Academy of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg. In 1993 I immigrated to Israel and in 2003 I graduated from the Tel-Aviv University as a set designer with an MFA degree. At the moment I work as a stage designer, an illustrator and a fine artist.

Since 1995, I am practicing a variety of experimental techniques having to do with human consciousness. Through the series of researches about the inaccessible zones of human consciousness that took place during lucid dreaming, my own consciousness has changed. The center of my consciousness has shifted towards the area of direct nonverbal perceiving of various aspects of the universe and "other worlds". I share this experience with people through my art and I believe that art as such is a wonderful tool that enables us to dive into the deep layers of consciousness.

The purpose of my art is to gain the ability to combine this multi-layered perception with the daily life within contemporary human society without changing the settled lifestyle artificially. I believe that contemporary society has to go through a major change, however it can only happen as a result of comprehending the detailed structure of our “mind-machines”. My ultimate goal is to help people who come across my art to expand the boundaries of their consciousness."

Roman Karpov, Riga, Latvia
Roman Karpov, Riga, Latvia

Latvia: Roman Karpov, Riga

Roman Karpov is a Latvian artist, who started to work in the Soviet Union.

After graduating at the  Latvian Academy of Arts he started to look for new approaches to painting. In particular he uses colours to convey de-ideologized and depersonalized emotions. While the Art Society of Riga used to dictate ethnic and folklore motives or socially adopted themes, Roman Karpov tried to step back towards common values or at least to something that could be equally perceived by all social groups. It is important to remind that up to this moment Latvia is culturally divided into two distinct parts of Russian and Latvian speaking societies. That's why the works of Roman Karpov are generally free from unstable social and political realms and try to represent something that is familiar to anyone despite of his nationality or social condition.

Roman Karpov is one of  the representatives of Immagine & Poesia in Latvia.

Macedonia: Ivo Pecov, Skopje

Ivo Pecov was born in 1980 in Macedonia. He gained his high art education with specialty in graphics at National Art Academy in Sofia, Bulgaria where in 2010 he defended his doctoral dissertation. He has participated in many group exhibitions and he has shown his art through several solo exhibitions in Macedonia and abroad.

Ivo Pecov graphics art works are very rigorous and always in perfect harmony with the artists own words when he says “I prefer art made with direct physical contact with the artist and the materials which he uses for work of art. Because of these reasons I use mostly classical techniques in painting and graphics”.

His works presents a complex mix of the real world social issues intersected with an inner world of powerful imagination and sub consciousness. Ivo Pecov is very well aware of this fine mixture of these two worlds in his art, according to his own statement: “In my creations I always seek for the connection between individual and society, material and spiritual world. I’m interested in actual society problems, which are reflected in part of my works, where I reveal my point of view…

But we must keep looking because it is when we keep looking that the images reveal themselves to be the artist positions and opinions on our world and our society. And one must look for the artwork title, for with this artist the title of each work is also a key to help decipher its message and its intention…

Ivo Pecov artworks are powerful images with the ability and strength to question and eventually change the viewer point of view.”

Curator Aristides Meneses in Prospero International Art Book 2012.

Alan Kent Chávez Chávez, Peru
Alan Kent Chávez Chávez, Peru

Peru: Alan Kent Chávez Chávez, Trujillo

Alan Kent Chávez Chávez was born on May 21st of 1975 in Trujillo, Peru.

At the age of 2, Alan Kent moved out from the Coast to the Jungle Region of the country where he lived for nearly 10 years within the spell and embrace of nature. This land had a great impact in Alan Kent and he developed a taste for the mysteries and the unknown. At the age of 5, he experienced his first confrontation with Art as he was part on the "Regional Children Art Contest: Painting on the Road" where he won the main prize. Then he moved back to Trujillo.

Life in the Coast was different to living in the jungle, but it could allow Alan Kent to experience a better Education and eventually walk his way on the path of Art, since there were no Art Schools in the Jungle. At the age of 20, he finally began his studies of Art when he won a grant to study at the "Fine Art School Macedonio de la Torre" in Trujillo . He studied there from 1995 to 1999 and graduated with the "Gold Medal Prize". Ever since then, Alan Kent has been working continuously in his Art, which he refers to as “A work of Love”.

The Art of Alan Kent has originally been influenced by Surrealism and The Visionary Art and lately by the Art of 2 outstanding Peruvian artists: Tilsa Tsuchiya (1930-1984) and Venancio Shinki (1932).

Alan Kent walks the path of Magic Symbolism and we can sense an intention of Ecologism hidden within lots of his works, which are part of private collections in different Countries of the world such as USA, Argentina, Australia, Canada, Peru, Spain, Italy, Thailand.

Alan Kent is the representative of Immagine & Poesia in Peru.

Manifesto for the book: Thirteen [for luck] by Krzysztof Ogonowski.

Together with: the crisis of faith, worldview and human relations, m-theory connected with theory of strings, global and commercial internet, mass devastation of natural environment, conflicts and nuclear threat, the biggest economic crisis and so on the world we know ended!
I have no willingness to live in this time and space, where there in no place for: proximity and faith, courage and honour- in the world where in the chronic sense of emptiness reigns. This is why I think that the duty of today’s art and science is tenewed redefinition of basic valnes in a manner that is comprehensible to everyone.
The key to the solution of Everything (reneved redefinition) is the geometrical theory of strings in its broadest dimension of m-theory. It is this theory that gives hope. The aim of redefinition is to create new space-time continuum, that is a new dimension of valnes, natural environment, economy, etc.
My attempt is: Thirteen – painting and texts. It is a definition of primitive notions, where each is potentially true and potentially false. The point of departure is: Plato’s solids (and others), curves, spheres-the aim, however, (not attainable at this stage) is the Calabi Yan’s manifold.

“ Working in his native Transylvanian region of Romania, painter Dan Brad explores colorful and dynamic Abstract expressionism. Occasionally, one of his paintings features a nearly figurative form, while the rest of the image booms with bright hues, energetic movements and strong forms. These abstractions are Brad's focus, as he crafts energy, flow and direction with a build-up of swooping shapes, lines and shades. Playing with this changing, shifting imagery, Brad gives his works titles that reflect their shapes but do not confine meaning.

His abstractions, despite their eclecticism, always organize themselves around shelters, structures and architectural shapes. In so doing, Brad invites us to engage the forms by interpreting and redefining them. Stylized roofs, caves, windows and doorways punctuate his fluid landscapes, but do not confine the viewer. With these spaces and refuges, Brad invites viewers into the works; he carves a space within his art from which we may look back out. Finally, he explores our sense of interiority by portraying his own.”

Born 06.04.1972. Civil engineer, graphic designer and painter. Lives and works in Serbia. She paints from an early age.
She is the author of a site www.katarinar.com where she presents her artistic pop-art creativity and contributes to inform the public about cultural events.
Her works are in private collections in different countries.
She has exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions, including London and Hamburg.

"The world is in a constant search for new ways of artistic expression and this allows me almost everything. I like combining elements and techniques of collage stylized visual representations of the urban environment  with elements of pop, female figure, ubiquitous symbols and allusions to the metropolitan media jungle.

The pictures are kind of testimony about the time behind us. My work will remain as a record of the current of modern life."

About my work:

My subject of interest is hidden vibrational background of our physical reality. There is no separation between objects and "empty space" - in fact, both are an illusion. There is only frequency patterns, carrying informations that we perceive as a material reality. In my artistic research I explore those frequencies and weave them into images.

Creating and consuming art, I'm most interested in how an artpiece can affect the observer consciously and subconsciously. Practicing different energy healing techniques, I found out that an artpiece is a microcosmos, too, like being, and it's capable of transmitting healing energy if programmed to do so. It's also a powerful medium for intentional and unintentional messages inserted by the author - it reflects his state of mind, his opinion about the reality, his emotions, challenges, dreams and fears...

I always create in a good mood, willing to evoke high vibrations into my work. Combining them with selected symbols and elements, my goal is to create compositions that support the observer with specific vibrational qualities.

"I was born in 1962.
I finished secondary art school in Košice.
I have had several group and solo exhibitions.

In the beginning of my painting career, I went through several painting styles.
I toyed with  surrealism and abstraction. Finally, I was
captivated by  op-art. In displaying op-art I find myself in two positions.
One is a purely geometric displaying of linear structures, while in the second such structures emerge in nature and create a contrast of worlds.

Is it a game, or a vision of the future?

I love nature and I often wander on my bike. I recharge my energy there."

Jacky Phaengtho, Thailand
Jacky Phaengtho, Thailand

 Thailand: Jacky Phaengtho, Hua Hin

Born in 1977 in the North-East of Thailand, Jacky Phaengtho realized his artistic ability at an early age. He loved to draw and see the world with an artist’s eye. He was captivated by Nature and the fact that it surrounded him in during his early years, it seemed only natural for him to focus on capturing its beauty and wonder. It was not until he reached the age of fifteen that he began to develop his own unique style, moving on to more contemporary themes as he grew into a fine painter.

At seventeen, while working in Singapore for several years, Jacky became friends with several local artists there. He began to realize that art had become a major part of his life and that he only felt a complete person when he was depicting how he felt inside or what impressed him most in life. When he returned to Bangkok, he worked with other art students by joining several Thai and international artists. He helped many to exhibit their art work, because they either lacked the wherewithal or the skills necessary to create their own shows. He soon came to appreciate the other side of art, which was marketing and he understood that “You must show your art to others”, so they can provide feed-back, support and admiration for having soul and for being part of the special one-percent of professional career artists.

So now it is time to show the world his paintings - oil paintings that are bursting with vibrant color. The varieties of his subject matter are a fresh look at the world through young eyes that are clearly open. Jacky worked all through his twenties to become the artist he is today.

For three years now, he has displayed his work at The Art Jacky Gallery on Soi 80 in Hua Hin, Thailand and before that in Bangkok.  Here you can see his various works of art displayed, together with the works of a few other local artists. Jacky Phaengtho has developed into a truly fine artist and contributes to a sense of art awareness in the community.

He is the representative of Immagine & Poesia in Thailand.

Adel Gorgy’s contemporary photographic images are large, complex works woven into harmonious compositions that have been exhibited both in the United States and internationally in museums and galleries.

Photography has been part of him all his life.  “It is my way to sharpen observation, bring vision to a focus, provoke thought and evoke emotion,” he says, “my way of heightening awareness and overcoming the apathy resulting from the comfort of the usual and ordinary.”

In his long artistic journey, his photographs, whether representational, conceptual or abstract, often blur the boundaries of photography, transcending the limitations of realism, venturing into territories once limited to the art of painting, drawing or even sculpture.

Adel Gorgy’s photographs have also been published widely throughout the United States.  In 2009, he became an honorary member and US representative of Immagine & Poesia.

 Zimbabwe: Tonely Ngwenya, Harare

Tonely Ngwenya
11 October 1976

Painter/Graphic Designer
Fine Artist

Tonely Ngwenya, an artist who specializes in book design and painting, with his passion centered on painting.

"I studied painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and dry point printing for two years with the B.A.T School of art and graduated in the year 1996 with a certificate in Fine Arts. As I had always presented interest and a keen passion in my work, I managed to attract the interest of one of my teachers, Paul Wade, one of the most influential members at the B.A.T art school, who offered me employment in his Graphic Design Company. I was employed in this company until the year 2002 when I later on joined SARDC, where I am currently employed as the publications designer.

I use a palette knife instead of a paint brush and this has helped me produce unique paintings over the years. The palette knife gives my paintings a unique feature that is richly textured. My paintings are focused on rural and urban market scenes, focusing mainly on field workers. These paintings are produced with emotion to an extent that they are able to communicate different stories to different people.

An artist, poet, musician and designer, I am greatly inspired by music with the track “Going Home” by Kenny G being my favourite, which whenever I am painting, the atmosphere surrounding me is filled with emotion and creativity. I also find motivation from my friends and art lovers that comment on my work, and also give back to the community e.g (schools and colleges), what I learned during my college years.

I started exhibiting in 1997 and have since exhibited with the National Gallery of Zimbabwe, the Cotton Exhibition, Inner Space Gallery and Richard Rennie Gallery.

However, I am going through changes in my styles embarking on a journey of new heights in the world of art. I am breaking away from the thick-layered painting, to fresher, loose and colourful work. A trip to China in 2010, helped open closed doors of creativity and the environment indeed helped in the making and carving of my new style."
